The 3000 mile Race Across America [1] (RAAM) has been won for the second year running by a team of Type 1 diabetic cyclists. Averaging over 22 mph, the 8-person team completed the gruelling event in 5 days 15:43. Team Type 1 [2] (TT1) was founded in 2004 and aims to raise money for a type 1 cure, and "to inspire people to exercise daily and eat a balanced diet and take care of their health - whether living with diabetes or not."
