Glucose Meter Waterproof cover
Dear All,
New to being an Insulin Dependant Diabetic so I was looking at the vast range of glucose meters available. I am currently using Glucomen Lx for one reason. The company are currently giving away some tight fitting rubber covers for the meters. With one on the meter is easier to grip and partly protected against knocks and temperature extremes. With two on, back to back one cannot read the screen but it makes the meter very water repellant and the outer one can be removed to see the screen. Free and useful. I checked and they do also fit other meters such as the True Trak.

Welcome Dr. David H!
Rubber covers sound nice....generally, I have my meter in a bum sack under my rain shell or in my pack in a small lighweight dry bag. I imagine there are also some spiffy dry bags for cell phones which would also work for meters. And how to keep those strips dry as they can be ruined by damp?
Use the lightest, most convenient meter you can find. If it is in a very flashy color you may win fashion points too. The No. 1 selling point for me is a back light and fast meter. High altitude and cold I rely on a different meter.
Welsome to the friendsinhighplaces site. Also check out madidea on UK Yahoo Groups.
